March - April 2007

This year’s theme verse in our church is, "Praying for Open Doors," Colossians 4:3

Open Doors: Without a shadow of doubt whatsoever, as Baptist Missionaries, our goal on this field is to See Souls Saved and Local Churches Established. We endeavor to do this as we Evangelize the Sinner, Encourage the Saint, and Exhort the Saviour. With these goals in mind God is opening many doors for us to do this. Praise His Name!

Since the beginning of the year we have witnessed many open doors in our ministry as well as answered prayers. I have been involved in a couple youth services with other missionaries across the island, I have been invited to give my testimony at several events outside the church, and our family has been used in our music ministry across the province of Northern Ireland and Ireland in a great extent.

The end result through these endeavors is to.

New Family: A family moved into the area in January and visited our church. Since then they have been faithful to all our services. The husband and wife have a clear testimony of salvation and have three small children they are trying to bring up in a Christian environment. David and Tracey Laverty have three small children, Joel, Megan, and Sophie. The children have been a blessing to our Sunday School and Wednesday night Bible Club.

New Physical Birth: Another baby as been born into one of our families here in the church. Ruth Sandra Evans. Andrew and Sandra Evans now have four children they are raising for the Lord.

New Spiritual Births: A greater blessing for the family is the recent salvation of there two young sons. Andrew led both of his sons to the Lord during family devotions in the month of March.

This family has been a great encouragement to our church since they started coming in 2004. Andrew owns a dairy farm and also does a lot of extra plowing, planting, and reaping for his self and for hire. His hours are consumed with the dairy farm and he is contemplating selling out the dairy farm and buying another farm that would only require sowing and reaping. The problem is, if he moves, the church will lose his family. I want the best for him but I sure don’t want to lose him. We also know that the odds of finding a solid church in the area he is looking to move are very slim. Please pray for this situation.

Two-week Mission: Our church is going to hold a two-week meeting in May. We are anticipating many visitors and desiring souls to be saved. The most important prayer request we have this month is for you to prayer for this upcoming meeting.

We are advertising it as "Preaching, Singing, and Testimonies." I will be preaching, others in the church will be giving their testimonies, and we will have special singing each night. This will be the first two-week mission outreach of this kind we have had in the church.

Thank you for your prayers, your support, and your friendship.

Bro. Ronnie Smith and Family in Northern Ireland.
