Luke 4:16-20
A Surrendered Life
All aspects of our Christian life are of equal importance
and cannot be put into an order of importance.
Take the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
We see an order of occurrence, but not of importance.
There must be a balance in all Christian teaching.
Prophecy, Witnessing, KJV, Separation, etc…
All these have their place, and all need to be taught.
Acts 20:27 –28…I declare unto you all the counsel of God…feed
the church of God…
Having a
Spirit filled life is part of the foundation of our Christian life.
Another part of our Christian foundation is found in Luke
4:16-20.
A
surrendered life / a sacrificed life.
A life that doesn’t fit Christ and His church into our
lifestyle when it is convenient, but a life that is centered around the things
of God.
I.
A Life that is Destined by God’s Will (anointed:
separated, called out, set apart)
Three areas that God has
destined us to, are:
1. Persecution: (2 Tim. 3:12),
(Luke 4:28-30)
2. Purity: (1 John 3:3)
3. Power (Acts 1:8) …ye shall
receive power. (Luke 4:33-40)
II.
A Life Directed by God’s Word
1. Aware of God’s Word (King
Josiah) (Jesus made people aware)
2. Apply God’s Word (James
1:22)
3. Answer to God’s Word (John
12:48)
III.
A Life Devoted to God’s Work… the Church
A life that doesn’t fit
Christ and His church into our lifestyle when it is convenient, but a life
that is centered around the things of God.
1. Worship (These people refused
to worship Christ as Lord) He is
to be worshipped and praised.
2. Witness (How God reached out
to the needy, v. 18 and also, vs. 25 – 27.
This was not a well received
idea.
This is God’s heartbeat
IV.
A Life Desiring God’s Heart to be Won.
We can pray this morning
to help in any area spoken on this morning.
We can ask the Lord
of Heaven to mold us, and make us.
We can pray for a
life that is pleasing to God.
