I. Allurement of Sin:
This world has set a pattern that they expect us to follow.
God knows when we began to follow their pattern the things of
God will grow less important. (v.2)
1. The Word of God will mean less.(v.2)
2. The House of God will mean less, (v.7)
3. Your experience with God will grow dim. (v.9) I don’t want it to.
In Solomon’s life I see no repentance, as a matter of fact, there is anger when his sin is brought before him in v.40. Do we get angry or do we get right?
II. Attitude of God:
1.(v.9) God’s anger kindled hot…
III. Faithfulness of God: (v.11) God never broke His covenant.
IV. Actions of God:
How does God deal with His people? Many times through their children. (v.11-12)
God is a jealous God, visiting the sin of the fathers unto the children, even unto the third and fourth generation.
David’s sin…, Solomon’s sin here…,
Am I here to scare you? No, I have great news concerning this…
There is an attitude called, “repentance,” With this action in your heart, God changes the outcome of desperate situations.
When one repents of sin, he is converted and heaven bound.
When one repents of sin, he has crossed over into grace
You may think we are focusing on Solomon in this message, but in the heart of the story we see what is holding it together. David.
David eased God’s judgment. David appeased God’s anger.
(v.13) for David’s sake.
Could it be
for your sake the Lord has mercy on your family?
Could it be for your sake the
Lord’s anger is kindled against you and your family?
