Hebrews 10:25
Assembling Ourselves Together
One of the simplest forms of worship is church attendance. Separating yourself from the world and joining together with other believers for the cause of Christ.
There are many Christian issues you can struggle with, this is one that doesn’t have to be a struggle.
Young families can be a task.
(Sometimes you have to start getting ready on Saturday night).
If you start right it will be much easier.
From their youth, children should never ask, “Are we going to church today?”
It should be a known fact that church attendance is high on the priority
list of every believer.
As far as numbers, Jesus made it clear in Matthew 18:20 where two or three were gathered together in His name He would be with them.
It’s not about numbers, it is about Christian growth.
I am fully aware that preaching on attendance will not cause everyone to be 100% faithful, like you should be, but I do know that everyone who listens to this message and hears this truth will be aware of God’s view on “Assembling Ourselves Together,” and will stand in front of God at the judgment seat for what you do with this knowledge.
Sunday morning crowd is the only time this message can be preached. Because many will not be back for the evening or mid-week service.
I want to be an encouragement for those who have made it a lifestyle to be faithful to the house of God.
I am not preaching to place anyone in legalistic bondage or to place a guilt trip on those who have sincere reasons why they cannot be here as much as they desire. There is a key word, “Desire.”
Some reasons why we can’t be in church are: Health, work, travel, …
Some reasons why we don’t want to: Desire, not understanding the importance, not committing to a simple command God has given us.
Why do we meet on Sundays? Resurrection day, 1st day of the week, apostles worshipped on the 1st day.
Why Wednesday? It is a top-up. The New Testament church met every day of the week.
We started sliding 2000 years ago, Heb. 10:25… as the manner of some is…
From Acts 2 we started on a downward spiral.
Why Assemble Ourselves Together?
1.
It is a command of God
2.
We are exhorters.
We boost morale of other believers.
How can we grow together if we are never together?
3.
We need to be serious about the last days.
(v.24 provoke.) arouse,
excite, to challenge.
This world has done a good job for the opposite.
The church is where you need to find your 1.Mate, 2. Morals, 3. Music, 4.
Maturity in Christ.
For those who are faithful, please be inspired to
continue in your faithfulness. May
it be an inspiration to others who are less faithful.
To those who are not faithful, please let this be a challenge for you, for God’s
sake.
