Galatians 6:7-8 You Reap What You Sow
God always warns before judgment and allows a way of escape.
One of the most important warnings for this generation is Galatians 6:7-8 What you sow right now is what you are going to reap.
Our generation does not understand this as much as the first century church did, or for that fact, as much as the last century did. Why? Because we don’t sow and reap as they did on an everyday basis.
What is sowing to the flesh? (v. 5:19-21)
What are the consequences? (v. 6:8; 5:21b)
How can we abstain from sowing to the flesh and to sow to the Spirit? (v.16)
I.
Having a Salvation Experience.
Being saved will take care of so much.
The Holy Spirit in our life, controlling and leading us into paths of
righteousness makes such a huge difference.
Having a divine nature compared to a carnal nature creates such a change in an
individual, it makes sowing to the flesh less desirable defiantly less
rewarding.
There is still a battle that we face, so, another factor in how we can abstain
from sowing to the flesh,
II.
Having Personal Standards in your life.
This is not what I expect, this is what I desire.
In friends, in entertainment,
in dating.
If you marry a non-believer, you will have the devil as a father-in-law.
Your spouse will be a pagan and your children will have a pagan as a parent.
You will never agree on spiritual things, and you spiritual life will be greatly
hindered.
If you chose friends that are ungodly, you will be encouraged to participate in
ungodly activities. It goes on and
on.
III.
Having the knowledge that we will Stand before
God one day.
Many people do not give this consideration.
It evades our mind, making every day we live a day that we live to
ourselves. In reality, every day we
live will be recorded by the hand of God and brought to our attention at the
judgment seat of Christ.
We will reap what we sow.
We sow according to what is in our heart.
Where are you with salvation?
Standards? Standing before God?
